DPF Regeneration
A diesel particulate filter (DPF) is a filter that captures and stores exhaust soot (some refer to them as soot traps) in order to reduce harmful emissions from diesel Engines.
But because they only have a finite capacity, this trapped soot periodically has to be emptied or ‘burned off’ to regenerate the DPF.
Most Diesel Doosan/Bobcat FLT’s after 2015 now come equipped with a Special filter within their exhaust system which is used to clean the smoke emitted from the machine. They commonly need to perform what we refer to them as a ‘Regen’ which burns off the Soot into ash.
9 times of out 10 this is done whilst you operate the machine, and is completely safe! However if you are on and off your machine frequently throughout day to day use, it may not be able to do the job it needs to keep our air quality safe.
Please refer to the following user manual in order to complete a forced regen, which will reduce the contained soot accumulation back down to 0%.
